Northwest Medical Physics Center (NMPC) has a fantastic immediate opportunity for a certified medical dosimetrist remotely covering the tropical paradise of Kona, Hawai’i. This on-site position utilizes Eclipse 15.6 (soon to be 18), Mosaiq 2.64, AlignRT, and RadCalc with an Elekta Infinity linac utilizing an Agility MLC. The center offers a comprehensive package of photon (IMRT and VMAT) and electron energies (electron Monte Carlo). This is a full-time position with NMPC; the Kona position will be 0.7 FTE. Additional experience with RayStation is helpful to assist with other NMPC clinics for the remaining 0.3 FTE. The selected dosimetrist will travel to Kona initially (2 weeks) to become familiar with staff and equipment.
Ideal candidate education and experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience
- MDCB Certification
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Experience in a single dosimetrist planning environment
Responsibilities and essential duties:
- Full scope of clinical dosimetry support
- Consultations with physician and physicist to help optimize patient treatment and delivery
- Remote troubleshooting skills to assist therapists with simulations, patient set up and imaging variances
- Develop VMAT QA plans
